چکیده
Low temperature and low frequency properties of a spin-boson model are investigated within a super operator and Liouville space formulation. The leading contributions are identified with the help of projection operators projecting onto the equilibrium state. The quantities of interest are expressed in terms of weighted bath propagators and static linear and nonlinear susceptibilities. In particular the generalized Shiba relation and Wilson ratio are recovered.

A New Look at Low { Temperature Anomalies in
We review a model{based rather than phenomenological approach to low{temperature anomalies in glasses. Speciically, we present a solvable model inspired by spin{glass theory that exhibits both, a glassy low{temperature phase, and a collection of double{ and single{well conngurations in its potential energy landscape. The distribution of parameters characterizing the local potential energy conng...
متن کاملMAGNETISATION AND ELECTRON SPIN RESONANCE STUDIES OF TETRAHEDRAL AMORPHOUS CARBON
The magnetisation and electron spin resonance (ESR) spectrum of two specimens of tetrahedral amorphous carbon (ta-C), deposited from a filtered cathodic arc, were measured over a wide temperature range. The magnetisation was found to consist of superparamagnetic, paramagnetic and diamagnetic contributions. The superparamagnetic contribution resembled that recently found in carbon prepared from ...
متن کاملLow Temperature Properties of Anisotropic Superconductors with Kondo Impurities
We present a self-consistent theory of superconductors in the presence of Kondo impurities, using large-N slave-boson methods to treat the impurity dynamics. The technique is tested on the s-wave case and shown to give good results compared to other methods for TK > Tc. We calculate low temperature thermodynamic and transport properties for various superconducting states, including isotropic s-...
متن کاملA Mössbauer effect study, as the main key to the investigation of anomalous magnetic properties of MnZn nanoferrite
In this research, a low temperature in-field 57Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy is used for investigation of anomalous magnetic properties of MnZn nanoferrite. Based on Mössbauer spectroscopy results, the reduced saturation magnetization of MnZn nanoferrite in respect to that of bulk sample is due to nonequilibrium cation distribution and spin disorder. The enhanced Curie temperature of MnZn nanofer...
متن کاملQubit Decoherence and Non-Markovian Dynamics at Low Temperatures via an Effective Spin-Boson Model
Quantum Brownian oscillator model (QBM), in the Fock-space representation, can be viewed as a multi-level spin-boson model. At sufficiently low temperature, the oscillator degrees of freedom are dynamically reduced to the lowest two levels and the system behaves effectively as a two-level (E2L) spin-boson model (SBM) in this limit. We discuss the physical mechanism of level reduction and analyz...
